Look at that! Our bookshelves are empty…or nearly so.
Books evoke so many emotions. For me, they are an investment and a history. So no wonder the last two weeks have been emotional. Jan and I gave our books away…all but a box each of specials: hers about the sea and ships, mine mostly children’s books.
Offering our books to friends who also love books made the task of minimizing so much easier. Thank you to our friends who arrived with empty boxes and left with them full. Now we can think of our books in the hands of people we love…a great memory.
Next, the work of organizing, packing and moving belongings to storage continues to puzzles and games. Any jigsaw puzzle fanatics, make your way to our place!
Art supplies and office supplies have been distributed. Wardrobes have been thinned – twice! I will loan some cooking and baking pans, dishes, trays, etc., to reduce amount stored. If any of you locals have special requests, let me know now.
The less we have, the lighter we feel. And the lighter we feel, the more eager we are to go. Vanuatu, it won’t be long!
